Warm, dry days and cool nights will be the weather rule across Oklahoma on Thursday and beyond.
According to the National Weather Service, high pressure will continue to move across the southern Plains, keeping conditions warm and relatively dry. A chance of thunderstorms will return to the forecast by Monday.
On Wednesday, skies were sunny and daytime highs ranged from 64 degrees in Guymon to 77 degrees in McAlester. Temperatures peaked at 71 degrees in Ponca City and Tulsa, and reached 73 in Altus, Guthrie and Oklahoma City, forecasters said.
Sunny weather will continue Thursday and Friday, with temperatures topping out in the 60s and 70s on Thursday and the 70s on Friday. Lows are expected to dip into the 40s and 50s Thursday night.
Mostly clear skies are expected on Saturday, with highs reaching the 70s and 80s statewide. Lows Saturday night should dip into the 40s and 50s.
The weather service is expecting partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 70s on Sunday. Lows Sunday night should reach the 40s and 50s.
Mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will enter the picture for Monday, helping hold temperatures down into the 60s statewide. Lows in the 40s and 50s are expected Monday night, forecasters said.
