Models in science-themed T-shirts will strut their stuff on a runway at a holiday fashion show at Science Museum Oklahoma.

"SMARTEN UP! Science is in Fashion” is being held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 12. The event will feature gift ideas from The Science Shop, from specialty shirts with slogans like "I Miss Pluto” to family games and science experiments, said museum spokeswoman Shaundra North.

The shirts will be mixed in with clothes from The Gap at Penn Square Mall for the show, aimed at showing people "that science is cool,” she said.

Donations of diapers, Good Start formula or cash for Infant Crisis Services will be accepted as entry to the show. Attendees will be treated to hors ’d oeuvres, drinks and discount coupons for The Gap and The Science Shop.

Gift wrapping will be available for $1 per item, the proceeds of which also benefit Infant Crisis Services.

The fashion show series began in June and are planned as a way to promote The Science Shop. North said the museum has been working over the last few years to transform the shop to allow shoppers to have "a boutique experience.”
