FEEDER CATTLE Monday’s feeder cattle weighted averages.

Receipts: 1,279; last week: 1,160; last year: 1,270; Monday’s actual: 9.694.

Compared with last week: Slaughter cows $1-$2.50 lower. Slaughter bulls steady. Packer demand moderate. Demand for replacement cows improved some but still moderate. Total of 662 cows and bulls sold with 65 percent going to packers.

Slaughter cows: Average dress: Lean, boners & Breakers $37.50-$45, high dress $43.50-$52, low dress $32-$41.75.

Slaughter bulls: Yield Grade Nos. 1-2 1,400-1,950 lbs. average dress $53.50-$56, $56.50, low dress $50-$53.

Estimated dressed cost at the Oklahoma National Stockyards: Lean cows $86.35; Boners $86.10 Breakers $81.85; Light carcasses $83.10. Bulls: $98.10.

Replacement cows: Pretested for pregnancy and age: 1-4 year old 1,000-1,175 lbs. 5-8 months bred average high black $700-$800; 1-4 year old 925-1,075 lbs. 4-7 months bred average black $600-$690; 5 year old 1,175 lbs. 7 months bred high black $850; 6-7 year old 1,050-1,350 lbs. 5-8 months bred average black $600-$710; 8-9 year old 1,000-1,250 lbs 2-5 months average quality $500-$515.
