A day after Jones was forced to forfeit all but one of its wins, Durant became the latest team to be investigated for ineligible players and be asked to forfeit games.

The Lions were asked to forfeit their four wins this season earlier in the day Friday.

But a Bryan County district court judge granted a temporary restraining order that allowed the player, identified in court documents as quarterback Daryn Alves, to play in Friday night's game at Ardmore.

The winner of the game would make the Class 5A playoffs.

Durant is expected to appeal the ruling at Wednesday's meeting of the OSSAA's Board of Directors.

Ed Sheakley, executive secretary of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association, said the player was found ineligible based on Rule 4, which covers student conduct.

One part of the rule states: "Any student currently suspended from an activity or expelled from school who enrolls in another school will be ineligible for the duration of the original suspension or expulsion or until reinstated by the OSSAA Board of Directors."

Entering Friday's game, Alves had rushed for 1,375 yards and 16 touchdowns. He'd also thrown for 837 yards and seven touchdowns.

Alves moved to Durant after playing previously at McKinney (Texas) Boyd. McKinney is about 65 miles south of Durant.

Like the investigation into ineligible players at Jones, Sand Springs and Jenks, the investigation into Durant began after an anonymous tip to the OSSAA.

"We have seen more of these tips recently," Sheakley said. "And we check them all out."

Jones, which had been undefeated in district play before Thursday's ruling, will not be in the playoffs unless the staff's ruling is overturned on appeal by the board Wednesday. Sand Springs had to forfeit one game Thursday as well.

Jenks was not asked to forfeit any games from this year but did forfeit nine wins by last year's team.
